    Tracking & data sharing

We will never use JavaScript code provided by a third party, such as Google Analytics, which could be used to track you.

We will never share your data with a third party, except in the unlikely case where we are legally forced to.

    Data storage

When you create an account, we store your email address, encrypted password, and other associated data, including up to two usernames. This is solely for the purpose of managing your account and interacting with the service.

When you use the Vortmaro browser extension to look up words, the URL of the page that you're reading is also sent through and saved. This is solely to track what content is being read, so that popular content can be recommended to users. URLs tracked this way are not assigned to a user account or IP address.

When you create flashcards, the page URL is associated with your account, for the sole purpose of retaining the context, i.e. the sentence you found the word in, and the page it was on. Deleting flashcards will remove this data.
